Even though the Salton Sea area has been neglected for some time, the views are often pleasant. Beyond the palapa is the take-off and landing are for ultra-light and powered parachute aircraft. Beyond the field is the Salton Sea, and on the other side, the Chocolate Mountains. At the base of the mountains, is the "Fountain of Youth".
